Community Recreation & Outreach
Youth, adult and senior citizen programs and activities are available to the general public. All of these programs are free of charge to TWP residents.
Seniors Community Luncheon
Young at Heart Active Older Adults Program
Meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 1pm. Transportation is provided and lunch is served on-site. Program activities include: three field trips per month, monthly BINGO, monthly birthday parties, table games, low impact exercise, health screenings, and more.
Every second Thursday of the month and is open to all seniors. Transportation is provided and this is a great opportunity for socializing with neighbors.
Good Samaritan Day
Every Thursday items such as bread, pastries, packaged food items, produce, fresh vegetables, clothing, household items and more are given away to any resident in need.
Donations are accepted Monday - Friday from organizations, businesses, and the general public.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am to 1pm. Adults and seniors will enjoy low impact exercise in the Auditorium.
Every Thursday from 12pm to 1pm. Open to adults and seniors. Free coffee and pastries are provided.
Every Tuesday - Thursday from 3pm - 6pm. Children ages 13 and under will enjoy indoor sports, table games, inflatables, and fitness activities inside our indoor fitness and activity center.
Kids ages 13 and under will play an assortment of games and participate in fitness activites. Winners will receive game tickets that can be traded for prizes. The KiKarnival is every other Friday from 3pm - 6pm. Admission is $2.00; free passes are given out throughout the week.
Fun Filled Friday (Family Night)
Every other Friday from 3pm - 6pm families come to enjoy family time together while playing an assortment of games, fitness and competitive activities.
Youth ages 14 and under meet every Wednesday from 4pm - 5pm and receives assistance with their homework. Participants who attend this program will receive free admission to other activities.
Weekly Walkers Fitness Club
Youth ages 14 and under meet every Wednesday from 4pm - 5pm to engage in 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Participants who attend this program will receive free admission to other activities.
Youth ages 14 and under enjoy cartoons, games, indoor sports, fitness activities and a healthy snack. Once a month on Saturday from 10am - 2pm.
Similar to Cartoon Saturday but held during the week as opposed to on a Saturday. Kids are served popcorn and watch a movie.
Boys to Young Men
An activity-based mentoring program developed for young boys transitioning from youth to adolescence. Each cycle accommodates 50 young boys ages 5 - 13 years. There are three (4month) cycles per year, and the group meets once a month. Participants who attend this program will receive free admission to other activities.
Big Kids Bakery
A fun, hands on program teaching Young Achievers ages 9-13 to prepare low caloire, nutritious quick meals and snacks. Accommodates 35 youth per session ages 14 and under. Meet once a month.
The Positive Action program is a six-unit, grant funded, research-based program designed to reinforce positive behaviors. Positive actions are taught in the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional areas and include academic support, community service, character development, prevention activities, conflict resolution, and problem-solving techniques.
Loving Arms Teen Parenting Skills Program
Designed to help teen parents (males and females) identify those skills needed to become competent, responsible parents. Workshops are held twice a year.
These activities are held in conjunction with national level partnerships developed by the YMCA of the USA and are open to all TWP residents.
- Healthy Kids Day - Held in April. Promotes healthy living for the youth and families.
- Activate America - Two week event, held in
September. Promotes daily exercise.
- Lights on Afterschool- One week event, held in October. Showcases our after school programs.
- Family Fun Day- Held in August. Promotes family and community unity.
